Configure shipping rules

Set up delivery options, rates, free shipping thresholds, and product-specific overrides.

Shipping configuration can make or break conversions. This guide helps you set up clear, competitive delivery options.

1. Choose a default delivery method

Open Settings → Shipping. Choose how shipping is calculated by default: Free (no charge), FlatRate (a fixed amount per order), or WeightBased (calculated from product weights).

2. Set up delivery options

Configure each delivery method you want to offer, each with a label, cost, and ETA:

  • Standard — your default, lowest-cost option
  • Express — faster, higher cost
  • Overnight — premium, fastest
  • Pickup — local pickup with instructions, no shipping cost
  • Digital delivery — for digital and service products

3. Add a free shipping threshold

Set a subtotal above which shipping is free. This is the single most effective lever for increasing average order value — "Free shipping over $50" reliably lifts basket sizes. Choose a threshold slightly above your current average order value.

4. Product-specific overrides

For products that cost more to ship (oversized, fragile, heavy), add a product-specific shipping rate on the product form. It overrides the shop default at checkout for that product only.

5. Connect a courier (optional)

To dispatch orders automatically, connect a courier under Settings → Courier. Enable your carrier, enter credentials, test them, and set your ship-from address. Then dispatch orders from the order detail sheet.

Test your checkout

After configuring shipping, place a test order on your storefront to confirm the right options and rates appear at checkout. Adjust based on what you see.
