Products overview
Understand products, product types, fulfillment types, and the catalog manager.
Your catalog is the heart of your store. Products can be physical items, digital downloads, services, or subscriptions, each with their own behavior.
Where to find it
Admin → Products. A subnav separates All products, Categories, Collections, and Brands. The product table shows thumbnail, name, category, type, status, price, and stock.
Product types
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Item | physical | A tangible product that requires shipping. Has stock, weight, and shipping rates. |
| Service | non-shipped | A service or booking with no physical fulfillment. No shipping or stock. |
| Digital | non-shipped | A downloadable product. Delivered digitally, no shipping. |
| Subscription | recurring | A recurring-billing product handled through your payment provider. |
Fulfillment types
Products are either fulfilled by you (self) or via dropshipping (dropship). Dropship products are synced from a supplier and show a blue sync indicator in the table. Filter the catalog by fulfillment type using the Imported (dropship) filter.
Product status
- Published — visible and buyable on your storefront
- Draft — hidden from shoppers, editable in the admin
Unique identifiers
SKU and barcode must be unique per shop. Attempting to create a product with a duplicate SKU or barcode returns a 409 Conflict.
